Like Mary and other women in the Bible, some women came to church after the Cambodian Easter service to decorate the church with flowers. Mary came to put balm on Jesus body, but she met the risen Jesus. After that encounter, her life was transformed. She did not know that visiting a tomb was a risk taking job!
As Mary took risks, visiting the tomb of Jesus, our women took risks also. One of the volunteers, Jan Isaac, fell from the stair and she was brought to an emergency room. She wanted to decorate the sanctuary to prepare the Easter service and the hope of eternal life of her late husband Carl Isaac on the following Sunday, April 16.
May God cure and restore Jan Isaac’s physical and emotional health through our Easter service and through our prayers! Each flower symbolizes and reminds us of all the sacrifices of the people that they represent. Some are saints and some are living. But we know that faith journey is risk taking journey! May God be with us all!
