Central seems like a big place but don’t let size fool you. We have many ways to get connected and start developing new friendships. We are a church built on personal relationships that span many generations. We hope you will come and be a part of one or more of our Central Ministry Life Groups.
Brown Bag Buddies
1st Wednesday of each month
12pm Library
This lunch group is open to anyone 55+. This is not a meeting, there is no agenda, and no commitment is required. Bring your lunch and enjoy an hour of conversation and laughter.
Caregivers’ Support Group
Thursdays
2 pm Library
Caring for someone in need is one of the greatest gifts we can give in this life. At times however, caregivers may feel overwhelmed, frustrated or alone. It is completely natural and normal to feel this way. The Central Caregivers’ Support Group, under the leadership of Martha Tipton, will help you find ways to care for yourself as you care for the person in your life. This group is open to the greater Stockton community.
Crafty Quilters
Wednesday 10am-1pm
Knoles 6
Join the conversation and fellowship as you help to hand-stitch a quilt for Autumn@Central. Participants stay for an hour or for the full time; during the break enjoy coffee and a delicious baked good.
Delta Wesley
Monday evenings 5.30pm-7pm
Knoles Youth Rooms
This group is intended for any young adult and meets in the youth rooms of the Knoles Building on Monday evenings.
Family Time
3rd Sunday 12pm-1pm
Central Methodist Nursery School Playground/classroom
Parents with children (infants – fourth grade) are invited to the playground for play, breakfast treats, and conversation.
Men’s Breakfast Group
Third Saturday 8.30am
This group meets at Payter’s for breakfast and conversation.

Sears Hall, UOP
Depending on the semester this University of the Pacific Group will meet on a week day for ninety minutes in Sears Hall on the Pacific campus.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
4th Monday 7.30pm
Conference Room
Knitters and those who crochet are welcome, as are those who would like to learn how to knit or crochet and learn how to make Prayer Shawls. Each prayer shawl is blessed by the person who knits or crochets it. The shawls are given to those who are in the hospital, in crisis, or have lost a loved one.
Super Saturday Play Group
Meets once a month on a Saturday 10am- 12pm
Central Methodist Nursery School Playground
Families with children ages infant- first grade are invited to join this group. There will be crafts, games, playtime, a Godly Play story, conversation, and much more.
Sunday Afternoon Book Group
Various Sundays 12.20pm
Library
This group meets every other month for a potluck and book discussion. Past books include Delicious! by Ruth Reichl, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens and A Gentlemen in Moscow by Amor Towles.
Tai Chi Chuan
Thursdays 3pm-4pm
Fireside Room
Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial art and system of calisthenics, consisting of sequences of very slow and controlled movements. This is an excellent low impact exercise program. All ages are welcome; no previous experience is necessary.

UMW lunch meetings put faith, hope and love into action each month. UMW provides opportunities and resources for members and friends to grow spiritually, become more deeply rooted in Christ, and put faith into action.
