Welcome to Central United Methodist Church in Stockton. We’re delighted that you are visiting our website and hope you will explore the links here to learn more about our ministries in the community and the world.
Central has ministered in Stockton since 1849. Our congregation is committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus through word, ritual, and deed. Like other United Methodists, we believe that nurturing our spiritual lives and acts of mercy and service go hand in hand. Without spiritual nurture, it’s almost impossible to sustain efforts toward social justice. Without actions that expand God’s love in a hurting world, our prayers and spiritual lives are unfulfilled.
At Central we start with the premise that every creature is valuable in God’s sight. We believe that food, shelter, and physical, mental, and spiritual care are basic human rights. Our ministries seek to bridge barriers and create opportunities for people to interact, worship, and serve together across difference ideas and theological perspectives. We are firmly committed to justice that acknowledges the sacred worth of every being.
Please join us for worship, for study, for play, and for service.
May the peace of the risen Christ be with you.
