WELCOME
Our website has been upgraded and revamped for the people of Central and to help us extend an invitation to those searching for a spiritual home. It still has some maintenance and content input, but it is looking good. Check it out at cumcstockton.org.
PARENT SUPPORT GROUP II
Central now has two Parent Support groups. The first one met last Tuesday; it is for parents of newborns- sixth grade. This evening Tuesday, May 5, our second parent group will meet at 8.00pm on Zoom. This group is for parents who have children in seventh-twelfth grade.
The 45- minute gathering will include prayer, reflection, sharing and prayer. If you would like to receive a Zoom invitation to be a part of this group contact Robbie Fredericksen.
TWO ZOOM BIBLE STUDIES
Jan is hosting two Zoom Bible Studies on Mondays. The first one is at 1.00pm when Jan meets with the residents of O‘Connor Woods and anyone else who would like to join. The second Zoom study is at 7.00pm. Everyone is welcome to join either group. At the end of this publication you will find the Zoom information.
UPDATE FROM YOUR TEAM
Jan has asked each member of the team to take three consecutive days off in the next several weeks. Most weeks the team; has been working seven days a week, and this pace is not sustainable as we settle into new ways of worshipping meeting offering pastoral care and planning for the future. Working from home means that some of us are connected to phone and work e-mail for very long hours. When team members are off, they will not answer calls or emails. Other members of the team will cover during that time as we are very much a team.
We so appreciate the support of the congregation as we keep ourselves healthy, so we can continue to offer our best service.
Jan and Jan already had vacation scheduled in May; they have not taken more than 2-3 days off consecutively since they arrived in Stockton, and they will take ten days of their planned two weeks. Gary Pope-Sears, pastor at Holy Cross, will be available for pastoral emergencies when Jan is on vacation: 775.530.7418. Jan is on call for Gary this week.

ASSISTANCE
If you are having problems with joining a Zoom Bible study, coffee hour or special gathering, contact Alan Cook who will arrange for one of our young adults to contact you and walk you through the steps.
BEYOND OUR BUILDING
Teacher Appreciation Week
Across the nation individuals, families, and community members are thanking teachers for going the extra mile in educating our children, youth and adults. Family Ministries is asking 30 people to write one or two cards to a teacher at Cleveland School. These will be mailed later this week. Contact Alan Cook and he will send you the name of a teacher. Write a short note of thanks and/or encouragement and drop it in the mail slot at church or at Alan’s house. Bring a smile to an educator.
GIVING AT CENTRAL
Please consider online giving to support the work of Central. Go to our website to make an online gift; then go to Give and follow the directions. You can always donate by writing a personal check and dropping it in the office mail slot or by mailing it to 3700 Pacific Ave. Stockton 95204.
For many years Central has offered e- giving as an option to make your weekly or monthly contribution to Central. This account is now closed and on-line giving is now done through our website.
