The Blue Christmas Service is held on the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. In a season that is supposedly cheerful, merry and bright, there are many who struggle with pain, anxiety, depression and loneliness during the holiday season. Fresh grief, as well as grief we carry from our past, can become pronounced against the backdrop of bright lights, upbeat music and jolly holiday refrains.
If you are struggling this season, you are not alone. We recognize that a lot of the Christmas celebrations do not meet everyone’s needs. To fill this gap, we are offering a Blue Christmas service Wednesday, December 21 at 7.00pm in the Fireside Room. Join Alan Cook and David Campero in a unique service where the light of Christ provides comfort and healing.
