One of the hightlights of the annual conference was to meet the young adult delegates. From our church Janell went with her sister Destiny.
Our Conference statistics shows that our conference members are 64% while (nationally 94% white) and we have high numbers of Hispanic, Asian, and Pacific Isalanders. We can see this also in the Young Adult Delegates’ group gathering.
Another highlight was an ordination service. The pastor at the Concord UMC, where I served for 12 years, was newly ordained this year. I gave her my stole as an ordination gift, blessing her to receive the double portion of my ministry.
If you want to know what happened during the conference, read our News 3700. Our church delegate Chris wrote her article. Janell wrote her article from the perspective of a young adult. I will share also mine.
I had a good time not only during the sessions but also during the meal times. I met many friends and colleagues during the meal time. I treated our church young adult delegate and her sister who came to learn and grow. I admired their eagerness for learning new ideas.
