University of Pacific president Christopher Callahan will be our honored speaker during our January 31 worship service which will be available to watch after 8.00am on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. The service will include special music performed by Pacific alumni and staff, and our liturgists that Sunday will include members of our Pacific alumni and present students who attend Central.
Christopher Callahan is the 26th President of our neighbor, University of the Pacific. He was welcomed by Central’s alumni and members with a gift basket and note about donations made to the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund in Callahan’s name on his first day at Pacific, July 1, 2020.
Callahan joined the Pacific community from Arizona State University, where he was the founding dean of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and led it to become one of the nation’s top programs.
He is bringing new ideas for unifying Pacific’s distinctive three-campus university in new ways.
Callahan and his wife, Jean, a human resources executive, live in the President’s Residence on the Stockton campus. They are Central’s across the street neighbors.
