Today, Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) had a meeting at our church fellowship hall. Cheri was sick and I had a good opportunity to open the door and greet the group myself. They gave Civil Award to three high school seniors. Kiana wants to major Criminal Justice or political science. It was good to see promising young people.
Geist McGihee, the second place winner, said that people heard lots of negative things about young people, but there are so many good young people who want to be good citizens of our community. I can tell that he is one of them. Yes, we have many good young people that the news media did not tell about.
Sheri, the president, said that she has come to our church to have their meeting more than 30 years now. Our church is proud to be a communitty center for all the good community activities. Some our church members also belong to DAR.
Leaders came to our church one hour before the program. They are dedicated and humble. I can tell that those who show up and commit become leaders in any place.
