“Gather Us In”
verses 1, 3, and 4 The Faith We Sing #2236
[Marty Haugen]
Here in this place new light is streaming,
now is the darkness vanished away,
see in this space our fears and our dreamings,
brought here to you in the light of this day.
Gather us in, the lost and forsaken,
gather us in, the blind and the lame;
call to us now and we shall awaken,
we shall arise at the sound of our name.
Here we will take the wine and the water,
here we will take the bread of new birth,
here you shall call your sons and your daughters,
call us anew to be salt for the earth.
Give us to drink the wine of compassion,
give us to eat the bread that is you;
nourish us well and teach us to fashion,
lives that are holy and hearts that are true.
Not in the dark of buildings confining,
not in some heaven, light years away,
but here in this place the new light is shining,
now is the kingdom, now is the day.
Gather us in and hold us forever,
gather us in and make us your own,
gather us in, all peoples together,
fire of love in our flesh and our bones.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE…THE LORD’S PRAYER
Ainsley Langham, Graduate
Our God in heaven, your name is holy. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth and in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not toward temptation but deliver us from evil…for yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen.
PRAYER RESPONSE
“Holy Ground”
The Faith We Sing #2272
[Geron Davis]
We are standing on holy ground,
and I know that there are angels all around
let us praise Jesus now,
we are standing in his presence on holy ground.
SCRIPTURE READING
Daniel Garcia, Graduate
Mark 4:26-32 He also said, “The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. The earth produces of itself, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head. But when the grain is ripe, at once he goes in with his sickle, because the harvest has come.”
He also said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it?It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”

Bring forth the Kingdom of mercy,
bring forth the Kingdom of peace;

Light for the City of God!
Shine so holy and bright, O people:
Shine for the Kingdom of God!
