SPECIAL MUSIC THIS SUNDAY
Future UOP grad Amy Wheeler, cellist and her mother Julie Hanney, piano will be offering special music on Sunday May 14, 2023 at the 11:00 am service at Central United Methodist Church. Join us for this special service.
Julie Hanney is a pianist, composer, teacher and music director who lives in Bend, Oregon. She has released four full-length solo piano albums that can be heard on all of the major music streaming platforms. Her latest album is titled Everyday Miracles and was released in January of this year by Heart Dance Records. There are miracles all around us if only we open our eyes, slow down and take them in. The songs on Everyday Miracles seek to express the wonder and delight of miracles like water, breathing, synchronicities, belonging, hope, birds, sunshine, snails, galaxies, the human heart, the divine spark and more. Julie is the Music Director at Grace First Lutheran Church in Bend, Oregon and the founder of the Peace Through Music concert series. Amy Wheeler is a geologist by day and cellist by night and is set to graduate with Bachelors of Arts in Geological and Environmental Science and Music con Cello in May 2023 with minors in Pre-Law and Sustainability. She has been hired by the Wallace Group as a field technician and will be moving to Bend, Oregon to work under their geology, environmental, and construction special inspection branches. In her spare time, Amy enjoys playing the cello and has participated in numerous concerts and performances both in the Central Valley area and all over Oregon.
