FACTS ABOUT THE ABOVE PHOTO
Where’d they Go?
This was one of our favorite experiences at Yellowstone. We must have watched this juvenile grizzly chase after a small herd of pronghorns for 45 minutes! He spotted them on a hill across the road and chased them over to Lamar Valley where all the bison were grazing. After 45 minutes I think he felt defeated and finally gave up, crossed over the river and disappeared. It was fun to watch and very comical!
Elk, bison, deer, and pronghorn thrive in the grasslands of Lamar Valley, known as the northern range. In fact, some of the largest wild herds of bison and elk in North America are found here.
