Update June 24, 2020
We are working with a team of Central members to develop the required protocols for re-entering our space for indoor worship for those who are not in a high risk category. We hope to have approval for outdoor services later this summer, and for indoor worship when the temperatures cool down (our sanctuary is not air-conditioned and all people entering our building will be required to mask). Check here for updates on our progress. We know that we cannot sing together, that only those who shelter in place together can sit in close proximity, that we cannot serve food or drink, and that people cannot congregate after services. Many people will probably prefer to continue worshipping on-line from the comfort of home and without the various restrictions. We are closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 in San Joaquin County. Our highest priority is the safety of our community as we seek to meet spiritual needs in new ways.
Our physical plant is closed until state and county guidelines allow us to reopen. Our church’s ministry continues in new formats during our shelter in place.
During this time, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul to the church at Rome: “in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
