At the 34th Anniversary of the Cleveland School Shooting, a poet mentioned 5 empty chairs. After the shooting, there have been always 5 empty chairs, and now only picture frames of 5 children were on a table. Those 5 empty chairs represents lost dreams, lost stories, and lost lives. However, they were not forgotten.
Even after 34 years, people came to remember them. One of the teachers wanted to build a children’s museum to remember them, and we were able to have 34th Prayer Virgil at the chilren’s museum in Stockton. They painted lively children playing on the wall to express their lost dreams and lives.
Because I came to Stockton last July, this was the first virgil that I attended in Stockton. I pray both for Stockton and for our country. After 34 years, our country has gotton worse gun violence and school shooting. Now a 6 year old boy shot his teacher with a gun! May the Prince of Peace rule over our country and free us from gun violence!
